I guess there was a time when the bicycle was regarded as a serious substitute the motor car, not that it isn't now, I guess you just don't really see ladies in office gear riding through the streets... just hairy dudes in spandex... uuuurrrggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Oh yeah, and is it just me, or were mud guards invented AFTER tarmac was invented...? It would have been a pretty grubby ride to work in the morning!
