Von Kruiser's Devil Bike

Postby VonKruiser on Tue Sep 01, 2009 3:58 pm

Here are photos of the bike which I broke 5 ribs and wasted my knee DH beach cruising (not recommended w/ out front brake). It has now been three year later and now have welded on disc brake routing and mounts and built custom wheels and highend components. This bike is super fast and can run w/ road bikes if you stay on top of the gear w/ no hills. Look for me running the bike paths in Valenica, CA!

Thanks guys. It rides as good as it looks. The stiff cranks and wheels makes this sucka roll real fast. Took it off-roading the other day down a steep sandy shoot and it rode it out perfectly and smooth. Love this bike. Had FSA K-Force carbon cranks but the black crankset did not look as good as the alloy. Alloy cranks even feel stiffer and over-all better ride as well.

Grob23,

Thanks, we have huge forest fires going on right now in Socal so riding has been sparse w/ all the smoke. Maybe tonight I can ride again. I easily do 8~10 miles when I ride it... always as fast as possible!... too much fun.

Good idea, I think I'll take the Flightliner out for a night cruise to check the lights. Beverage run! :D

Uncle Stretch,

Those are alloy rims w/ 24" rear and 26" front both 50mm width. Drilled out for the larger the Atomlab Torque alloy DH nipples. Wheels are pretty light w/ out the tires. -Von Kruiser

Man they are beautiful. After using these cheap chrome china welded crappy rims, It would be a pleasure to lace something on such nice rims.

Always liked the look of the raw frame, and nice component upgrades, well done!

Socal Jack,

Had to buy compete Felt Shimano internal gearing wheelset just to get the rims. They are very strong alloy light weight rims for sure... however it was not cheap to get them since they do not sell rims only. - Von Kruiser
