Skip, you might try lighter fluid to remove the masking tape. just put some on there & let it set, repeat a few times then use a paper towel of something soft to try to remove it. I used to be in the sign business & we used lighter fluid on almost everything to remove old tape & adhesive residue. I don't think it will hurt the plastic chrome finish, but you might try it on a spot that is not visible first. Just a thought! Let us know how it works out! 8)

Everyone makes the spray stripper always look so easy... Mine never quite turn out as nice :?

The tank and fender did great but the Sears/Huffy parts just did not what to bubble up. That paint is hardcore

Hey Skip! I had the same problem on a past project. My son works @ O'Reilly Auto Parts & got me a gallon of Klean Strip Aircraft paint stripper. It is kind of a gel & worked great. Brush it on, wait 5 or 10 minutes & hit it with a power washer or hose. Wire wheel works good also & those red scotchbrite scuff pads on a drill work pretty good as well. Can't wait to see your bike painted! 8)

Good to see a little helper, I'm bringing up 3 future helpers right now, the oldest will be 8 in August, the next is 4 and the next will be 2 in September. No help from any of them on this build, but most of my work has been done after their bedtime.
