1971 Huffy Pennys


Paint stripping the frame. Although messy it did save me alot of time from having to sand the whole frame by hand. Times like this I wish I had a sand blaster.

Finally all stripped. I did have to do some sanding by hand but it did not take that long. Actually it took me about an hour to do the whole frame.

The bike did not have a chainguard so after looking through my scrap parts I found one from an old beach cruiser that I got for free. I knew that I had to make it fit but did not see it to be a big problem.

First cut made with the good ole aviation snips. Man that does not look good at all.

Second, third, fourth, fifth, six and seventh cut later. Looking good!

Mounted the chainguard along with the rear wheel to make sure that I would have room for the chain. So far it's looking good.

I still have some cleaning up to do on the edges and drill the hole to mount it on the rear of the frame but I think it looks really good and ratty.
