I think it would not do any damage to the tire to shave the raised rib. and repaint the white wall all the way to the top.
would look real cool.

Re: pedal scraper for the boyfinally uploaded some old pictures so heres some teasers....
handlebars(well....thats what they started out as!)... ![]() fork legs, drop outs, and chain/seat steays(all just in rough out stages then).... ![]() and some frame work... ![]() ![]() and the boy getting busy! ![]() Plan 9 Customs proudly supports the next generation of custom builders
Re: pedal scraper for the boywell....slight(HAHAHA) addition of pics....had to make some new bars since the clubmans were to low for the boy....
![]() so it was some 'keystones' for him....yeah i know...the gaps off in that pic but they were just rough tacked to figure out how much pull back was needed for him to be comfy(they be fitted properly and all the welds be filed and finished off now i even had a few spare seconds to shoot some off topic pics( 26" X 70 or 75mm wide wheels for my next build in the early stages....sorry dont recall now ![]() ![]() i guess i may start a thread for that one as well when its done....why all the odd ball sizes on the wheels i make? well if it was an 65,80,100mm wide i could just buy one....same for the 20 x 3's thats why i made 20 x 2 1/4"....
Re: pedal scraper for the boyAwesome build man! It's inspiring me to build one for my godson.
Re: pedal scraper for the boy
thanks chimi.....and DO IT!!! theres nothing better than building something for a kid(well aside from them wanting to learn how to build themselves and getting in and helping)......if you have any questions feel free to shot me a pm....im always willing to help answer any questions i can
Re: pedal scraper for the boyWell, we finally came up with the color for the wheels!
It's a lame excuse for a spray out since I didn't want to clean my gun again to do 7mid-coats of candy, but you can get the idea from the picture(just look at the darkest spot) anyhow. ![]() I guess it'll be a "rat rod" since it's a black suede frame with red wheels(well...brandy wine candy over ppg sequin flake) and whitewalls!
Re: pedal scraper for the boyjust for those who think im sleeping(i know no one cares about what im doing really but......) the boy talked me into doing a real test panel so we could decide what size/color flake we should use so i did a real test panel when i had a few spare moments(dang flake, clear, sand, flake, clear, sand, then candy, candy candy, etc, etc, etc, can take some time!) but heres a teaser on what the wheels will look like when theyre done.....
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() bet you cant guess what flake size/color and how many coats of candy he decided on yeah were bringing gaudy back for 2012! party like its 1969!
Re: pedal scraper for the boyI wouldn't have a clue what flake size/color and how many coats of candy he decided on but whatever it is, it's worth it. Looks great.
Those bars are way cool too.
Re: pedal scraper for the boydang dude thought this had been scraped! Haha

Re: pedal scraper for the boyGuessing 6 or 8 coats of candy red
