Spring boardOk I'll try this. Got this frame from CL. $20. I'll make some type of springer for it and go from there. I hope to get it done in time.

Re: Spring boardOk first things first. Tired of working on floor.
Daughters old spare. ![]() A couple hours later a welder and a chop saw. ![]() A bike stand.
Re: Spring boardgenius bike stand!
Re: Spring boardNice bike stand way to go.................ya know..........if you cut the center out of that donut you could have had the beginnings of a chopper wheel.............If I get you the wheel off a police car would you trade?
GL Practice makes progress.SOME OF MY OLD BUILDS
Re: Spring boardAll right started working on springer.
Started with this. ![]() To this ![]() Not quite done. ![]()
Re: Spring boardlooks good but i have a possible safety related question...
the solid bar for the front........is that just (im guessing on the width) 1/2" mild? if so id temper it....i made some trusses for a springer with that and before i tempered them i bent the heck out of them(im about 170#'s) looks really good though
Re: Spring boardGee Sensor I was thinking you were going to tell him that it might slip out of the slotted forks.
Is everybody finished building yet?
Re: Spring boardIt's 5/8" I built one for my other bike more traditional type. and haven't had any problems. There is a pic in my intro. I might temper it now that you brought it up.
Thanks
Re: Spring boardim guessing the springer on the black bike? looks good
5/8" probably wont fold but id still temper it(or at least lean on it really hard before riding to be sure).....
Re: Spring boardYour getting there, You know I can test the strength of that front end for you, I'm sure there's a curb that I can jump off of
Re: Spring boardYou've nearly won the build-off already with just your bike stand! That's cool!
Re: Spring boardSpringers looking good. Great workstand also.
Re: Spring boardGot springer done. seems pretty sturdy. And I did put new brackets on bottom of main legs so it wouldn't slide out. Thanks Uncle Stretch ( I cant believe I did that.)
![]() Now to work on a seat post to move my seat back. I have this cool seat I got on a $5 bike this summer.
