'37 hawthorne part out. New pics

Postby Missing Link on Wed May 09, 2012 6:45 pm

I'm parting out an old Hawthorne I bought from an antique dealer who was using it as window dressing. I'm offering up the tank, seat, chain guard, and New Departure model D hubs w/skip-tooth gear.
The tank is a non-horn smooth model, with no through rust, a few dents and dings, and one loose bracket, color is rust with touches of original and house paint. If anyone is interested in it or any of the other parts I'm looking to trade for an older springer fork, anything cool or unusual, or good old fashioned cash. If you want I'll post pics once I find my camera, I have a 17 month old son who likes to hide things.
I also have a pair of cream handled spotlights with Mercury badges, they're not vintage, I think they may have come from Mr.Merc. They were working when I took them out of a friend's wasted '52 Ford a few years ago, thought about using them for headlights, and if no one wants them may still.

I don't want to be a soggy bun but Steve will pop in at some point and have you post prices or face deletion of the thread :D plus it's good for business as everybody knows what to expect and can make a definite answer quicker. Good luck! Some nice parts up there.
It'll rub out.

That and people generally are afraid of making offers.

So I've been getting a little flack about not listing prices, although I'm pretty sure this post was and is under "Let's Trade", the part of this forum where barter is king and paypal need not apply. It may be my fault for leaving a cash option, maybe I just need to be a bit more specific where as it pertains to what I'm looking for in trade for what. Sorry for any confusion.
This is what I have.

First order, the tank.
I am looking to trade for a 26" springer, preferably a CWC or beehive style. I could also go for a couple truss forks, they don't have to be pretty, they don't have to be the same make, straight truss rods is a plus but not necessary.
As far as the rest of the stuff is concerned, make me an offer, I'm always looking for stems, bars, truss rods, seats, 24" & 26" rear wheels with coaster brakes, headlights, old tractor lights, racks, front or rear. I could go on and on, my main point is if you see something you want, look in your garage, shop or junk pile, snap a pic and send it my way, I'd rather have something cool that you don't need/ want over cash any day. Barter is far more fun, and slowly becoming another rusted heap in our cultural junkyard, it'll buff out.

The deal on the hubs fell through, everything is still up for grabs. If I don't get any responses soon, I'll price everything and move this over to the for sale section.
