OK, I'd better clear something up.......a friend of mine looked at this pic and asked if it was some sort of statement against fixie riders or alleycatters.........I said, "Huh???". it was meant to be a funny spoke card for a faux alleycat ......referring to the name of the bike "FATRAT", and the fact that rats and cats generally don't get on. So no hidden agenda, just a warped sense of humour (mine ). Sorry if I offended any fixie riders/alleycatters. I ride a fixie too .

I usually don't like fat tires upfront, but this is on helluva cool looking bike my friend! Ofcourse I'm biased. Making a cool ride out of an uncool frame is the way to go! I love the black against the orange. Oh and I'd like to see a racingseat way up high on this build sometime...

Thanks herr_rudolf. Don't you like my safety boots? I usually wear shoes when riding......I only did a couple of passes past my house so my wife could take a riding pic. The law here in Oz says we must wear helmets. Besides that, I like my head too much (as rough as it is ).

Thanks KOTA. On Saturday afternoon, I took it for a ride after fitting a sealed BB, and rode past a group of cyclists prepping for a road race........I heard a guy say "What the beep is that"? His friend replied "I dunno, but it's a bad beep lookin' thing"!.......so..........Mission Accomplished!
The bonus is, it rides so nice. I've put a lot of miles on it since Saturday and it's real sweet to ride. The BB is getting smoother and the chainwheel and chain have just about lost the brand new sound. I'm a happy RatRodder .

Thanks for the kind comments. I wasn't real sure about the color initially. It was a little brighter than I expected, but I'm getting used to it, and it sure does stand out!
The faux fixie/alleycat cards were a last minute idea, and I wasn't even going to post the pics, but I'm glad I did now.
