Thinking about maybe getting brown 'fat frank' tyres and perhaps losing the fenders after all.

Re: Board tracker projectThe fenders are a pretty easy on/off, depending on your ride or season. The saddle looks good, but now you gotta have matching grips! (it never ends), and the tires would really round it out
So many bikes, so little time.......
Re: Board tracker project![]() Like I said, I like to take small steps. I took the headlight, changed the white LED with a red one and used some red 'see-through' paper to make it a taillight. Also found a copper headlight for a ridicilous price and made it so it could fit batteries and a on/of switch at the back... Also found a real 'licence plate' that says "Antwerpen 1986". The picture is located at the city of Antwerp. So far so good, but I am thinking of buying a new front fork with more curve to the front so it will be a little lower..
Re: Board tracker projectGood lookin' bike man, I like the picture in Antwerp.

Re: Board tracker projectIt will change the handling for the worse. A little curve with thinner legs will flex more and improve the ride quality, but the amount of curve you are talking about changes the rake and trail (look them up) geometry of the fork.
So many bikes, so little time.......
Re: Board tracker projectYou are right, but how do all the others cope with the 'wheel flopping'? maybe a little bend to the front would make allot of difference visual without having problems with steering... Also thinking about putting on some 'truss rods', but I don't know if it would look cool.
Re: Board tracker projectTruss rods always look cool, the next best thing short of a springer, they will strengthen and add resistance to a wippy fork leg set, mostly the 'look' to the more rigid modern generation of forks.
As to changing fork geometry, search rake and trail concepts online and/or the library and consider your riding style/needs. A real commuter will be different from a park/show bike for most of us. So many bikes, so little time.......
Re: Board tracker projectYeah, I think it depends on how you want to ride. Rake and trails numbers vary quite a bit anyway and I think that if you don't go too extreme you won't effect the bikes utility. Plenty of people commute and ride good distances on choppers, probably not 100 miles but...
You can always put the old fork back on Do not hope for an easy life, hope for the strength to endure a hard one.
