Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayI just got these wheels today that I think I will use on this bike especially since getting an original Schwinn S7 wheel would cost too much for me along with the specific tires too, what I need next is a tube & rim strip for the front wheel, sissy bar, banana seat, pedals, green grips, fenders and a few small pieces for the springer fork.

Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayThose wheels look great on it!

Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayThanks.
Payed way less for these than originals would have been and less than wheels would at a bike shop, a pawn shop had those with about 10 other wheels. ![]()
Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayNeither can I but I have too much stuff that I don't need and I guess others don't either since no one on CL isn't buying anything lately.

Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayHa ha as always my luck the axle is too big to fit into the two other bars of my springer fork.

Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayI put clear over the paint, it dried good & smooth while other spots are ruff then I fixed those spots then where it was good before is ruff so I don't know, I guess when I was fixing the spots over spray went over to what was good then messed up as a ruff fuzzy look to it.
The paint isn't great to begin with but I wanted to put clear coat to preserve it's rat rodness so I wasn't going for perfect but at least I wanted it to be nice & smooth. ![]()
Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayReally nice work with this build....today its called ratrodding, back in the day it was called hotrodding (I'm an old guy)....same difference, being creative and using what you got!
Look forward to the finished product Sent from my handheld Maxwell Smart iShoe ADWR4s using Tapatalk 2
Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayThanks, yeah I have a few friends from those great times.
Thank you very much to a member at that Cabe for the banana seat with the number 1 on it or Seats as it turns out I got from him, I don't know what the other would be used for or at least yet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayDoes anyone know how I can use the stem because when I put the stem into my springer forks steerer tube it has some play in it?

Re: Kngtmat's 1968 StingrayAlthough it doesn't have grips this bike is done and ride real good, I used Lucas Oil Xtra heavy duty grease for work trucks, farm equipment for their high temps & high speed bearings that is green for my headset & crank.
Here are the pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Kngtmat's 1968 Stingray DoneThank you very much guys.
I like the tires but some day I would like to get a WW slick tire for the rear if I ever had the money from the stuff I have on CL get's sold but right now the Schwinn tire on the bike will do for now. I wished I knew what bike the rear wheel that says Enzo on the hub came from, maybe a Schwinn bike since it has a 20 x 2.125 Schwinn tire on it when I got it at a Pawn shop that a bunch of wheels without a bike along with the front. ![]()
