Keep a diary of your latest build here.
After consulting with Axsepul, here's what he came up with:
All I can say is WOW!!! I think he totally nailed it!! Alex is a terrific guy, and has the patience of a saint to deal with my nit-picking for slant, script, etc.
I was going to save this and post when they were done, but I just can't contain myself!
Great job on the bike!
Your gallery/blog is full of awesome stuff!
The keyboard is top notch and my son's, 8&9 years old....would love to see that Nerf gun
Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the kind words Skipton! Nerf guns like that are fairly easy to take apart and paint, the outside and 'slide' both come apart into two halves which are very easy to paint up (I spray bomb them) and then can be detailed however one chooses. I make them and sell them, tho it would be an easy and fun weekend project for you and the boys if you wanted to give it a shot The guns sell in stores for only about $10 (at least around here) so its not a very expensive project either
WOW Alex works fast! I just got these cell phone pics of the tank plates from him
How cool is THAT?!?!?!?! Brilliant work Alex, thank you so much!!
I'm happier than a pig in swill
When I returned from classes today, here's what I found in a box by my door...
These seriously turned out nicer than I ever expected, I am simply blown away! Kudos to you Axsepul! This man is a true artist!
I couldn't resist this shot
I also got my grips for this bike, an old pair of Felt grips (missign the chrome-y bits). I cut off the rubber extensions on the 'top', and will either fashion some bar plugs myself or just leave them open. ...Unless someone has some spare end plugs for these kind of grips for cheap?
Oooooh... I like it
Those grips are awsome.

OOhhh!!! Turning out nice... I´m loving it!
Wanna see my rides? :
Thanks guys, it means a lot to me to get feedback
Sorry there havnt been many real 'building' updates, the bike and wheels are all back in my hometown workshop (an hour away). I'm hoping to bring them back down here soon, and with the weather warming up get to some more painting and assembling Its tough being in an apartment with no space to paint but the 'great' outdoors. Its Milwaukee...
I do have a different set of forks on the way to replace the bent ones on this bike, I'm hoping they will fit and work for this (the origionals from 'The Auction Rat' that have been generously paid-foreward to me ) and if they don't, expect to see them back under the pay it foreward thread.
Looking good so far! Can't wait to see it finished.
It can be fast, safe or cheap. Pick two.
thanks!! way better picture
After a trip to Sheboring this mornign to drop off some work, I though what the hey, and brought a few parts back down to my apartment in sunny (ha) Milwaukee. I mainly need to do some cleaning, priming and painting at this point, then re-assembly can begin. I was so giddy I took a few mock-up pics of what I have. What do you think?
And how she sits in the corner of my humble abode
And my tires look like they'll fit perfectly! I got mildly paranoid about that after thinking about how many builds around here seem to get the perfect tires only to find that there's something silly with sizing and they just dont work. That seems to usually be my luck, so I was just glad to dodge that bullet (sorry if this has happened to you!)
Gdcast, I'll do some work later and try to pop the headbadge off if you're still interested in it
Can't wait to see it done
sweet bike man, the flying merkel is my favorite boardtracker! if you haven't found your handlebars yet check out velo orange they have some that are close. keep going i cant wait to see it done!
Dash- It's my favourite boardtracker too! They just have this 'look' to them, the styling is marvelous and to me it truly captures that era. Thanks for the suggestion about velo orange, honestly I have never heard of them before.
Skills- I made the keyboard, one the second page of this thread I posted a link to my gallery, you an see some of the other steamy goodness I've made (some more 'spectacular' than others)
