Vintage Sprung Brooks B66 Saddle

Postby langsmer on Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:44 pm

Here is a saddle I have up for sale or trade. It came off of a clean, original 1969 Raleigh, so I imagine it is from 1969. There is no damage, and the leather is still soft and supple. Someone has taken good care of this saddle over the years. It is well broken in, and very comfortable. I just need a smaller saddle for my bike. I am interested in trades for other un-sprung leather saddles, such as another Brooks, or Ideal. I have the seat post clamp, so it will go on a cruiser seat post. These retail around $135 new at the bike shops here in town. This one is in great shape, and already broken in, so $90 seems like a pretty good price. Thanks!

Thanks, but Im looking for a saddle with a full leather body, like a B17. I need something that will hold up well under abuse. Thanks anyway!

I cant see your photos here at work, but I've got a Brooks B72 that's in good shape I might be willing to trade. I like it, but I wanted more springs. I'll take a look when I get home.

That's the kind of seat and color that will go good on my Schwinn. Even trade? I can take a pic of the underside tomorrow morning if you'd like.

Thanks wildcat, its a cool saddle, but I don't think that double rail design will fit on a modern post. To bad! Its a cool one.

Yep it looks like the rails are a little thinner than yours. I would have thought they were all the same, especially the old ones. Mine is late 80's.

That seat looks oddly familiar. Looking forward to seeing where it turns up...
