Raleigh Runabout Moped

Postby highship on Sat Dec 10, 2011 6:46 pm

I'm going this evening to pick up a Raleigh Runabout moped and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.
I already know of a few things I will need for it, including a motor.
here is a link to a similar one...

I have found a few things online about them but I'm looking for something in the states.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

So, does anyone know anything about these? Or, better yet... have some parts?

Google "Moped Army," they may be able to help you, of course with any oddball vehicle ebay is your friend.

Do not put a motor in it! I think it's awesome as is!

You wouldn't think so after you pedaled it for a couple hundred feet. :|

I was going to update my sig line, but I'm not seein' anything worth plagiarizing right now.

I pedaled it around the drive way and it was fun for about 30 seconds
If I can't find a motor I am going to have to get rid of it.

Yeah, I've got a Kinetic TFR and it weighs almost 200 lbs. The pedal option for mopeds is a joke. Check out Moped army there might even be other engine choices for it vs trying to find it's original.
Lets put the pedal to the...uh...rotational direction giving foward comveyance.

I think a Puch motor will fit those. Don't quote me on it though. It would be cool with the 110cc chopper motor with 4 speed I got sitting in my shed though.
It doesn't matter what I paid for it, it matters what it's WORTH. I never buy anything I will regret KEEPING.
