Actually, the Army Air Corps existed from 1926 until 1941 when it became the Army Air Force.(USAAF) In 1947 the Army Air Force became the US Air Force. I just looked this up as I'm researching my Grandfathers service during WW2 in the AAF. I have all of his paperwork, medals, and German loot he brought back from WW2. Dripping with Sarcasm...
