From the first picture, I thought you were going with dualies! With the larger wheels, the top of the hood is level, with the smaller ones it slants down to the nose. I get more of a "vintage race car" vibe from the smalls, the tall ones look more "tractor".
Maybe it's the lower level on the front of the hood that's throwing off my eye. When I check out the pics, it appears that the "DAVID BRADLEY" text is level on the small wheel setup.That on a slant would be annoying to me, I'd have to set it with that level.

Where'd you get those 20" Huskies? I just ordered some 2.25 DK tires, but those are pretty cool. Nice and chunky

Thought I’d take some comparison photos to compare the stance.

And I sit thinking about all the dis-assembly work involved in doing any finish work...it may keep it’s rat rod look. If the wood stays it needs some camouflage though.

Weather the wood. It will blend in with the hood. You can do it without taking it apart. Prop the front end up on a bench, pull up a chair and go to town.

I like the squat look of the 20" wheels up front. I wish you could squeeze a 26 × 3.8 rear tire in there. I have one from the front of Mesa Buggie that would look awesome on there! LMK.

By request some current photos of the “Trike-Tor Flow”. Before doing the photos I changed out the seat post and seat. 13/16” x 5/8” wedge seat post with a 5/8” to 7/8” seat clamp adapter.
So here is the current flow.

I need to remake one tie rod, paint or change out chainguard, add rear fender, experiment with front 20’s and decide on finish.

That will be a heck of a hill bomber!

I definitely like the 20" wheels even better!!!!!!
I think the chrome of the handlebars makes them stand out too much. I think you might have mentioned hiding them by painting them black or something. I think that would be great if you are keeping them.

Think I agree on the 20’s, but noticed the pedals are closer to ground.
The bars do tend to overpower the wheel, need to experiment a little more.

Agreed on the 20’s. They have 5/8” hollow hubs. Think they’re keepers though.

Yah as I was sitting having a senior moment I was planning on how I could distress the wood as assembled. So there is a mental plan.
I also would like to add a wider or more aggressive rear tire. I also have a fender in the wings. It will add some beef to the look.
I ordered a safety triangle for the rear.

Hmm, PTO maybe a rocket booster. Some additional rear wheel power would be good also. Have thought about a trailer hitch.

Actually haven’t ridden it yet with the smaller wheels, still need to redo the right side tie rod. It does steer better just moving it around on drive and putting it away.

Yah it’s a little crazy, crazier than I originally imagined. A learning experience. Steampunk is good. What would make it more steampunk for you?

Out for a ride this morning. Raleigh Preston 700c SS.

Did a little reconnaissance in search of a suitable stain color for the axle beam. My first thought was a rust color finally decided on hot rolled steel color, ebony. So I brought a small can of Ebony Minwax penetrating stain home.
I could have used an A-Frame lift to get the front end up on the bench. It’s heavy! The first coat seems to be blending in with the rest of the Trike-Tor.

Half way point no turning back now.

Maybe another coat when dry or maybe some acrylic spot smudging. Didn’t take anything loose, stain behaved pretty well with small brush.

The clips were part of the mounting system when the hood was fit to the two wheel tractor chassis. I’ve experimented with conduit which fits the clips. The original plan had the clips resting on the angle projections but the measurements didn’t quite match up. I’m thinking a couple of round tubes and some 1/8” flat bar bumper with a slight curve. If I ever get back to an antique store or flea market I’ll look for an alternative piece. Some one mentioned sickle bar a while back, that would work.

Perhaps some color is needed for the hardware too, now that the wood is "aged", the stainless is so shiny!

I think the hardware will probably stay shiny...a little bling is good in a rat rod. Only a few nuts are actually stainless.

Add a little brown and caramel color to your stain and some very strong smell, and it could pass for a creosote covered beam. Boy, that stuff is nasty. We covered hundreds of feet of board walk with it back in the '80s to protect it from the bogs below and the wet forest and damp air off the south shore of Gitchie-gumee. I'm sure I have some brain damage from those days.

Are you sure you don't want to rat-ina the hardware some? Mix up a little home brewed rust mix, and go for it!
