Man that was stressful just when I thought I knew what ones I was voting for  , I didn't vote for gadgets and gimmicks unless they worked and didn't detract from the build, I was looking for flow, and also something I consider , is it ridable ,at least pictures of the bike being ridden. I thought that was in the rules at one time ? but my votes consisted of 1. Black and Wild , simply put , I couldn't take my eyes off it 2. Engine No 9 everything is just perfect in the layout, theme, and new ideas being used in fabrication,3.Monkey Panic for no other reason other than I just thought it was too cool !!! simple but well executed, I just feel bad I didn't finish this year but I really need to overhaul my garage so I can move, just a little maxed out, But congradulations to all the builders this year and I wish I could have voted for at least twenty more.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE, everyone! There is truly something to like about EVERY bike entered this year....with the most important being that you all actually FINISHED  ! (someday, someday....i guess there is always next year  )

Anyway, a huge thanks to everyone for continued inspiration and entertainment - a fantastic community of random individuals here! "RATROD" - again, thanks soooo much for this site!

VOTING:

I am most definitely NOT a "theme" bike guy, but "Skull-i-osis", "Engine #9", "Elgin Old Army" "Desert Stormer" and "Sidewalk Supervillain" took the cliche and blew it apart! I would be proud to own any of those bikes. Having said that, there was room in my Top 3 for only one of them, and "Sidewalk Supervillian" was so far gone that it HAD to get my #1 vote.

The next two votes were actually fairly easy for me. "Widowmaker IV" and "Broken, Beat and Scarred" are PERFECT representations of what I LOVE about the "rat rod" world: clean lines, subtle/clever/thoughtful modification, and ATTITUDE. Killer work, guys!

I would like to offer an "honorable mention" vote: "The Goon". This bike kept me coming back to simply look and appreciate the end result. What I really found admirable was that it proved that even the most generic, lame-o modern cruiser can be stripped down and reconfigured into something with unique character, style and presence. Besides, the BEST "action" shot of the entire build is this bike in a great downhill powerslide!

This was too tough for me to decide- congrats to ALL the builders. Though you may have different styles, you all have mucho TALENT. Much respect.

In the end my vote was decided by my very stylized 7yr old daughter who sat here and looked carefully at each entry with me. It helps to have an opinion from someone who may or may not fully appreciate the work/fabrication that went into a bike, or the money spent. All she cared about was the flow and pop. I kinda agree with her choice, though. ANON. 8)

I think this was the hardest vote yet!

I really appreciate the votes I got. It's good to know a few people appreciate my klunker.

These got my votes!
in no particular order

Phantom Menace
Salt Shaker
Widowmaker VI

my three votes are

the first two need no explanation because they are true to the build off name but
even though doublenickels is painted and clean it gets a vote for the use of the front mounted rear rim suicide brake setup!

So many to choose  Well I chose my 3, but it was tough :D Great job to everyone who entered the build :p

Had to join the crowd on fenderhole's 2-for-1 build. The suspension was enough for me, but then he put a professional quality parade bike around it. :) Bighit's Supernaut is just such a "kustom build-off" bike, I had to give it to him. And the Tennessee Klunk, hey, it's a handle bar swap away from being a perfect bike! 8)

As for the rest,

what an awesome crop of losers :p

I would have to agree with Upper Class White Trash. There are alot of kick ... bikes displayed here but some are not exactly rat rods. Had it been a custom bike build i could have pulled out a doozie.

I encourage those that are voting to also look at the bikes a little closer to see some of the finer details of the rides entered.

I think i have about 40+ hours grinding on the frame and pounding on the fenders of the pile i started with and the one picture shown for voters to view here doesn't do it justice at all.

Some really tough competition i will say and i really got some great ideas for future builds.

Well first off I voted for myself because not only do I love my build, I didn't want to be at "0". Well, I was just having trouble picking too. So The other real votes from me are Engine No. 9 because I love the flow, long and low. And Widowmaker did it dirty for me. So 3 bikes for completely different reasons. So what's the prize for last place?

you guys have me completely confused. I've build rusty ones and the shiny ones win, I've built shiny ones and rusty ones win. I just want to concede I'm just not in the grove wherever it is.

it's because we all pulled over because it's an emergency vehicle.

my next bike is going to be much cheaper, if I'm going to get beatup by most of the bikes at least it won't cost as much.

has anyone ever entered a unicycle? hmmm something to think about. personally i thought it was going to be the year of the fink styled bikes shows what i know none of the bikes i liked are doing well but hey thats how it goes. engine no. 9 is amazing although not one of my picks i can see why it would work and the build quality is just about perfect job well done. if anyone really wants to know my picks went as followed 1st skull-o-sis, 2nd the bandit (ed roth trubute) and 3rd the undertaker. all these bikes are something special well done to all

I thought you were voting for mine, I'm not sending the bribe money now.

i just picked the 3 i could see myself enjoying the most on riding around town like i usually do.... and now that i think of it none of my picks were schwinns

and by the way ... Great job to all !!!
Hard time weeding through the votes, like usual :D

Yeah - I could have used a couple of extra votes. I'd have liked to have submitted votes for Engine No. 9, Doublenickel's Bandit build, and a couple of others, but didn't have enough votes to go around. I threw a vote at Skull-O-Sis just for the sheer madness and all the cool details, even if I don't think it's something I'd try to actually ride. Supernaut got a vote because it just had attitude, style and lines for DAYS. Lincoln Green got a vote because if I was going to own one of these bikes and ride it every day, that'd be almost EXACTLY what I'd build for myself.
