Check this out

What have I got?
What year?
Is it Japaneese?

Check out the brake levers. Shaft style. Rear brake hub. Notice the front brake pad location. Runs inside of rim instead of side of rim.

That type of 333 hub showed up around 1966/1967. It has the indicator with a little hole in it that you see the N through, the earlier 333 hubs had an exterior needle that you matched up with a line to set the Normal gear.

Somebody recently posted pics of another Japanese roadster on this forum that looked similiar to yours - rod brakes and chain case. But whoever made them it was probably rebranded for the U.S. market.

Robbie, was that bike on Knoxville craigslist up in Morristown? I think a guy from there offered that bike to me as a trade a while back.
Hey CeeBee

Sorry I missed this till now. Yes it was in Morristown. Not sure if they posted on CL but most likely.

Probably Chinese built. I had the men's version a while back.

Here it is when I got it.

After a facelift
Wow
I had to look back and forth a bunch of times trying to see if same frame for sure. Obviously I see the modification but that's an awesome use of a donor.

Great job

I remember this build. Awesome bike. If I recall correctly it was called the Orient Express or something. Definitely the best use of a junk bike I've seen on here.

Good Memory. One of my favorite builds. I would still have it, but it just wasn't comfortable for me. Been meaning to build another one for a while, just haven't gotten the motivation.
