Maybe my glasses are really dirty (or my eyes are worse than I thought);but am I missing something?

(Besides the pre-'72 bars; and the rust in the first pic)

Thank yuo for that statement and AMEN. Id LOVE to find some guys or a group that is into bikes for FUN. What happened to FUN??? I mean even if it were an original..$1200 is WAY WAY WAY over priced for a bike NONE of us can even ride. Or If i did I would have to raise the seat 12".

So $1200 for ANY bike is crazy unless it was some cool custom with awesome paint and rims...huge tires..something along those lines. AND..99.9% of the people that see that bike would have NO IDEA it was original and wouldn't care if they did. So WHY WHY pay these prices for bikes??? I know...FOR SHOW. I'll save my money and look less cool I guess. The best bikes I see on here are simple...fat tires...nice chrome and most of all something that can be ridden. There are vey FEW of these customs that look comfortable enough to ride

I'd pay $1200 for the right bike.

.... a like-new survivor (as opposed to restored) Krate that's the exact color I want, with the original slik in perfect condition and a build-date of September,1970, for instance..

If that bike is all original then that is probably close to the going rate for an Apple Krate with drum brake and springer.

Yeah, it's pretty weak here. I couldn't believe it when I found my Jag frame local last weekend. I'm in central Phoenix, I'd love to hang out with some like minded individuals!

Sad part is we probably have the biggest single collection of bikes anywhere on the way up to PAyson. Too bad the guy needs mental help. It would be nice to have some swap meets or something like that. It's not like the weather holds us back.

That's the truth. I hear there may be one in April, but it's not set it stone yet?
The automotive swaps are a good place to find bikes, that's where I landed my Schwinn American last weekend. But I would like an all bike swap to find the smaller bits I'm looking for.

Guess maybe we should all get together. I was thinking of startnig a post on here for Arizona Bikers. Lets all get together and have a swap meet. MAybe we could throw around some ideas of where to come up with a parking lot or something like that. I live in the East valley so im interested in something over this way. LAst one I went to was way over in the west area and it turned out to be pretty weak.

There are bikes out here, you just have to look! I just picked up a nice one owner Screamer in East mesa in the neighborhood where i grew up.. also picked up an Iverson Charger awhile back in Chandler..the fact that there aren't that many bike collectors here helps me!..:)

Im sure there are a few bikes out there like the Screamer or a Charger. I guess part of the reason for the swap meet idea is to find older parts..bikes and other hard to find items without the RIDICULOUS prices that people want now. Im not a collector..just a builder. Most times i look for frames that are cool and customize from there. And if anyone has any ideas where to find these bikes..PLEASE let me know. Craigslist out here is pretty bad

    LETS HAVE A SWAP MEET
