I live in Newton, KS. Population around 19,000. Not much happens around here, but when something does, it's a big deal. I knew when they built a new fire station on the south end of town, I was going to have to ride out there and check it out.
Bikes are ready to go.

We rode about 1 1/2 miles into downtown. I had to stop for tacos!

The city of Newton spent so much money on the new station, they couldn't afford any new equipment.

They could afford some bike racks though.

That looks like a pretty healthy wind. It's going to be a tough ride home!

She's doing much better than me riding into the 10-20mph winds!

That was about an 8 mile round trip. And a great way to spend an afternoon! Thanks for coming along.

We've got friends up and down town who would love to meet with us riders. A really cool bike shop out of a garage, and a health food shop that has a bike rider log, as well as a very friendly bar that would be more than happy to help us block off an area to park our bikes to have beverages as well has many others and sights to see. We better not let them miss the poop people sculpture at cenintenial park, you can pose for silly pictures with them!

You Did have a beer with the tacos right? I thought so!

Looks like a nice ride. We missed you guys today. Can we see a pic of the dog walking apparatus?

We need to have a group ride on that path some day.

We'd be more than happy to host a ride sometime.

It doesn't hurt to go ahead and have a route etc.. planned out. Then we just have to work out a date. That;s the hardest part. Always so much going on.
