    Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the forum, but I've been loving the bike pictures on instagram for a long time.
Here's my first submission for the build off. I bought this bike June 6th on offerup. These are my before pictures: Screenshot_20180607-211041.png Screenshot_20180607-211129.png Screenshot_20180725-005946.png Screenshot_20180725-005957.png
The tires were terrible, the mounts for the motor and chain-tensioner were in the wrong places, and it had a lot of rust.

It was a brand new motor on an old bike. I had some trouble starting it for the first time, but after I did, I got carried away. I used a wire wheel to remove the rust, started taping and painting, added real fuel line, and upgraded to a spring loaded chain-tensioner w/sprocket IMG_20180612_030732.jpg IMG_20180612_030740.jpg IMG_20180612_030851.jpg IMG_20180615_233417.jpg

I wanted the rims to glow, and made a big mistake in painting where the brakes clamp. It took some time scraping it off neatly. I have no idea how many coats of white and glow paint were applied. Lots...

I needed a battery mount and thought it would be cooler as a spoiler too.
    IMG_20180616_054015.jpg IMG_20180616_054022.jpg IMG_20180616_054056.jpg
I think it took about two days to plan, cut, and bend.
    IMG_20180616_234346.jpg IMG_20180616_234351.jpg IMG_20180616_234357.jpg IMG_20180616_234400.jpg IMG_20180616_234405.jpg IMG_20180616_234410.jpg
Then I had to paint so more parts.
    IMG_20180617_225848.jpg IMG_20180617_225923.jpg
I had sooo much trouble with the gas tank paint. The white would look good and then the glow coat kept sliding/cracking because I was painting too fast. I had to keep removing all the paint and starting from scratch. I painted it 3 times before it was acceptable. What a headache...

The first headlight I ordered on ebay didn't ship. So I tried the free prime trial and got a better looking one from amazon. It has hi/lo beams and indicators too. I also painted the motor with some high temp engine paint...

Painting seemed like a never ending job and I have a lot to learn.

It glows nicely, but only with a good charge, so I don't think I will go through all that trouble next time.

Here are some headlight at night shots...

I had some issues adapting the atv thumb throttle.
    IMG_20180624_224728.jpg
I added color changing LEDs, whip lights, new seat, radio, white-stripe headlight accent, more gold accents to motor, painted carb... Someone pushed/leaned on my spoiler, and then wouldn't admit it after they broke it...

Someone also dropped my bike and scratched my paint. I was soooo hurt and upset. I really didn't know how I was going to fix it in time for my 1st Car & Bike Show. They leaned it on a pole, even though I just bought and installed a heavy-duty kickstand. I found that odd... They quietly went home, and I found the damage later.

I repaired as much damage as I could and the V103 Car & Bike Show was fun. I had to wait 3 hours in 90 degree heat to be accepted into the competition. It made all those sleepless nights seem worth it. I had the only bicycles there, so I didn't expect to win anything. It was just for fun...

This was my 2nd bike show, the next day...

...and this was last weekend after I repainted the tank and fixed whatever else broke during transport and un/loading. (a couple light strips) Thought I could get it done in a couple hours, took ALLLLL day.

I liked what you did with the spoiler. And $80 bucks was cheap.
Maybe a half a box to cover the battery in a way you can bolt on easy,it will also help support the spoiler. Just a thought... Because rat rod bikes are never completed.

Thanks, I was considering upholstery to cover some wires and the battery, but what do you have in mind with a cover that has support? The spoiler doesn't flop around, but I am going to reinforce the sides anyway...

Maybe something like a box made out of whatever you made the spoiler out of to slid down over the battery painted to match just a idea

Like one of those cookie tins with ons side cut out. Or if you can get yr hans on some aluminium and a rivet gun/drill you could cut one out and bend and make it... Just not sure what tools you have. But sure if you go to a thrift shop you would find something in the right size.
