I like the natural satin aluminum finish. If you want it shiny, you can sand and polish that aluminum to a mirror chrome finish with a little elbow grease. Polished aluminum can look just like chrome.

Added another doo- dad, geegaw, gAsS-cessory to RG this afty.

Some of you may recognize this shape from last year's custom OddJob Award.

I incorporated an old school cantilever brake cable hanger, mounted from a hole in the seat rail. Then widened the holes in the plate to accept the lamp screws, and used some leftover brake cone washers and a nut to secure the 'new school' gore-tex derailleur cable in place. I squeezed the top of the cable hanger ends so it closed the slot and the cable won't pop out.

Any idea what in the world the graphic on this piece might say?

The F.W. Woolworth Company was a pioneer of the five and dime. Frank Winfield Woolworth opened The Great 5 Cents Store, his first, in Utica, N.Y., in 1879. The first thing he sold was a five-cent fire shovel.
My wife’s grandfather managed a Woolworth for years. He used to cuss to me about it and the shoppers all the time! Lol.

I never met my grandad on my fathers side due to a very early death. My grandfather on my mothers side died when I was a freshman in college.

My wife and I are high school sweethearts.

As a high school / college kid and young man, my wife’s grandfather was a good mentor (one of many) for me.

When he passed a number of years back, he left me his craftsman wrenches that I use on all my bike builds.

It's a beautiful Friday eve in the BACK40. Suns out, light breeze, in the low 70's....and speaking of '70s, I've got '70s on 7 Sirius / XM on the radio....and a '70s Hot Wheels spectra-flame gasser parked in the shed....

My orange can crapped out on me. So I had to do a yellow, then red, then yellow over the top again to get some orange on this thing. Worked pretty good.

Don't get your undies in a bundle about the blotchiness of the panel, that will mostly be covered by some graphics. I just wanted to get some paint on it. FYI, it is WAY easier to paint round bike tubing than a flat surface!

RaT on aNd GRooVy ~!
OJ! You are killing this build!!!!!

This thing is over the top! I love every inch of this thing!!!

These last few posts are kind of funny to me, because one of my original names for this build, when I was considering some shiny colors, was "CANDY GASSED".

And then I found this one, and thought it kind of already has been done:

Such a cool Gasser. Really like this build OJ.

I like the rust, but I also like the shine! Metal shades are usually my favorite. Overlay with some candy and get this nice gradient on the frame. [emoji106][emoji106]
