So, as promised...This is my son's first build of anything. He is very excited and we have done a bit of work on tearing it down. The kicker on this build is that he will be updating this thread as we go. I hope everyone enjoys.

Here is how we got it minus a few parts (the parts we didn't get in the picture won't matter for this build)...Thanks Nick. I stole your picture by the way.

Re: Huffy Rail Boardtracker build...No name yet.

We did a little mock up with some bars we had lying around and the seat off of my El Camino.

Tear down process...Got the stem off but the forks are stuck for now. We have the stem soaking in some penetrant.

Here is the donor bike...Unless anyone is interested in buying it. PM me if interested. It will be a while before we need the parts off of it.

Well, my son got in trouble at school today. So he won't be updating. I did get a seat and handle bars ordered from fleabay but they won't be here for a few days.

The seat...

The bars...if the top bars end up being to wide for him...we will cut down the middle ones.

Pressure from you now?!?! Hahaha...My kid has been bugging me about it since we got it home...It will be ready by spring. I have two other projects that I need to work on as well.
So glad you started earlier on this build

Can't believe the cool color you have underneath  8)
I really like the twin top tubes and end caps on the frame
Man, I like the way you're setting this up! Looking forward to the next update

Thanks Steve! We are planning on working on it some today so we should have some updates...After cleaning it up a bit, I was supprised on how much of the OG color was left. And if you look closely, the fork darts are still a little visible. We were going to repaint but I think for now I think we will leave it as is.

We got a little work done today. Rolling mockup...well, kind of. Blew out the rear tube wilst airing it up. I'm not sure if the fenders are going to work out for this bike but they do look cool.

Oh yeah...we also came up with a name for the bike today...

Rat rod + Huffy Rail= Rat Tail.

What do you guys think?

Re: Huffy Rail Boardtracker build...Warning! Huge Pics

Cool bike. Love burnt orange color. I don't care much about names but Rat Tail sound good. Are you parting out your girl eliminator bike? If so, I'm interested chain cover.

I am parting out the Sheliminator!!! Hahaha. PM me about the chainguard.

The rear fender will be fine but the front tire is too big right now.

Sorry I haven't called. We are being lazy today.

Looking sweet man!!!! I love the stance of it.
Rat Tail is cool or even Rat Tail Rail.
The front fender doesn't seem quite right, but I like the rear one. Maybe rotate the rear fender 45 forward.
Sick build!!

Hey this is Jaidyn ... we got the seat in the mail today and we put it on. we still have to tweak with a little to make it look right.

Looking good!
Here are the numbers you asked about my Wife's Eliminator
Front Recumbent (ISO451 mm) 20" x 1 1/8" is 20.25" overall diameter
Rear Schwalbe (ISO406 mm) 20" x 2.125" is 20.5" overall diameter
Your 20"x 2.3" rear definitely looks better than my 2.125"

Thank you!
I may be able to get away with a 20x1.75 in the front and still be able to use the fender. The kind gentlemen at the bike shop down the street had a freestyle tire that looked very similar to the rear I already have that he gave me. I am guessing it was headed for the trash. Still plenty of treat on it too!
