Just put a set of white walls on it and removed the fenders.

It is a JC Higgins Flightliner with an unknown tank and chainguard. I spray painted the wheels red and spray painted the rest satin black. I drew and cut out a stencil for the flames on the chainguard. It is a middleweight bike but I just found these tires at Kmart that fit 26x1.75 up to 26x2.125, and once inflated they are nearly as wide as balloon tires.

Cool bike, my current project is also a JCH Flightliner, '62 I think (see screen name).

Did you use the original wheels? Mine were a white enamel with black pinstripe and a Montauk coaster brake hub.

Mine is a Red metalic color and I am keeping the original paint with all its battle scars, gouges and rust. I am using the same rear rack as you did, which came off a second JCH Flightliner I got at the same police auction. Paid $1 for one (project bike) and $7 for the other (all original except front wheel tire).

It will also have a flat black sissy bar, white sparkle banana seat, apes off a 60's Rollfast, Schwinn stem, stock white grips, Schwinn 5 spoke mag chainring and a flat black 3 speed Nexus wheelset with IRC Metro II blackwall tires.

I am hoping to have it finished so I can take it to the FBM GHC Halloween GTG.

I look forward to seeing more of these old classics take shape on the site.

I don't know if the wheels are original, they were on it when I got the bike. They were chrome before I painted them. Have fun with yours, they are fun to ride.
