Picking up the bike frame tonight, 5/1

Hint:
It’s Aluminum and It’s a Schwinn.

Pics or it didn't happen. :)

Ok

This frame is a Schwinn Tornado that was stripped for parts by my friend that owns Stonehall Bicycle, Monroe.
It needs a fork and seat post that is not from your average cruiser. Jeff is a tech wizard with all the tools, so I recruited him to help me bore out the head tube to fit adapters that would accommodate an old-school 1” steer tube.

I gotta hand it to the Asian welders, their beads aren’t too bad.

So you know, this frame weighs in at 5lbs, stripped.

I may chop off the chain guard tabs...but use the bridge to mount a new fender. The tires are going to be so fat, normal fenders won’t work.

I’ve got a pair of these waiting to squeeze into place.

Parts that may be used, or maybe not.

I haven't seen one of those twin tube frames before. I like it!

This saddle has been in my basement for years. I think it’s time to use it.

The lay-back seat post I wanted to use is too little for this modern frame, but I’ve got a plan.

NICE frame!...I can't find it anywhere on the internet...We know it exist, you have one!

Yes IT DOES exist, but it’s kinda rare, because it’s from the “Signature” line.

You don’t find these at Wal-mart, boys and girls!!

Stonehall is a Schwinn dealer and full service shop.

If you’re ever in Monroe, Wi, stop in and talk to Jeff. He worked with Trek for years and then opened his own place.

Little shameless plug.
