I just picked this up for my girlfriend yesterday because she wants an old bike to join me when I get my '36 Hawthorne out. I'm having a heck of a time figuring out what year it is. From my research, Goodyears were built by both Colson and Columbia. I'm thinking around '41. Anyone have any idea what I have here?

That's a Cleveland Welding Company made bike, probably early postwar, 1946 or so. Just my guess. Is there anything like a "Cw" to the right of the serial number?

+1 on Wildcat's ID. BTW, photos taken from the "drive side" of the bike are more beneficial when making identification. Neither the crank ring nor chainguard can be seen very clearly in these. Sometimes, that makes a difference.

There's no cw on it. Sorry about the angle. Garage is a mess right now and that's just how I put it in. I'll get some more pics.

Chainring is also the typical early post war CWC type. Without seeing the full serial number, I’m with @Wildcat, late 40s.
It’s a great bike BTW, nice lines for a girl’s frame. Aside from the paint, everything looks to be there except for the chainguard.
Looking forward to see what you do with it.

I do really like the lines. Wish more women liked the old bikes so we could save more of them. Here's some pics of the other side. And that's the whole serial number. That's part of the reason I'm wondering if it's a CWC bike. Every other CWC I have has a CW.

Thanks for posting the extra pics. I hope it didn't sound like scolding. These new ones helped to clinch what we pretty much established already. On the originals, Dr T couldn't even see that the chainguard is present...and correct.

I posted it in the macro Monday thread. The rust spot looks like a cartoon bear head to me.

The curved braces were still in use in the late 40's bikes, my 47 CWC had them. The boy's earlier bikes are easier to tell, they have a nearly straight down tube, late 46 they are more definitely curved. All the girl's frames have the same curve. Mine was a late 46 or 47 model, no Cw on the serial number.
