Painting aluminium wheels quick and dirty

My though was to cover the spokes in straws, clean the rims well, mask the braking surface and spray the rims. Any other suggestions?

If you don’t feel like removing the tire you can stick playing cards between the rim and the tire all the way around, then put some air in it so the cards stay in place.

It will be a new set of silver aluminium rims, so no tyres. But that’s a cool idea!
