I kicked around here for just a minute and I saw some cool stuff, so I registered...

(for the short version drop down to the last paragraph)

I had been sitting on my Worksman beach cruiser for years. I bought it in 1982ish. Last spring I got the urge to get it road worthy again. It needed tires and some other wear parts.

I did a quick and dirty restoration. I gave it a quick paint job, tires, chain, etc. Now I had something to roll down to the coffee shop with.

A buddy came by for breakfast one morning and saw the old cruiser sitting in my spare bedroom. Within two weeks he had purchased an old Schwinn frame, mixed in some bmx and cruiser parts for a pretty sweet ride.

We use the bikes for bar hopping on Sunday afternoons now. It's a blast. My bike is the black one, my buddies bike is the blue one. I guess we better get some pictures featuring the bikes?

I took another quick picture of my bike tonight while I was cruising bike shops in my area. That's one nice thing about living so close to a college = there are a bunch of bike shops near by. 5 or 6 that I can think of, with two of them having some old stuff around.

I really need to stop using that cheesy camera in my cell phone. The reason I grabbed the quick picture is the background. See the truck? I am not sure what year it is because I can't quite figure it out. I think it's got a 54ish chevy truck bed, the front grill, front and rear fenders are older ford, and I don't know about the cab.

The guy with that truck makes AMAZING stuff. He has been featured on a couple of news casts as a local artist of sorts. He makes custom stuff. All stuff. I was most impressed with a toilet he made, the water tank was a set of Harley Davidson cylinders! He makes couches out of various front and rear clips of cars, that kind of stuff. You might be able to recognize the couch in the garage, made with (what looks like) a 65ish Comet, complete with wheels and moondiscs.

I felt like a little kid when I rode by, I was hoped he would say Hi so I could go into his shop and poke around. Very cool.
