New project, no idea what it is!

Hey chaps, I picked this up the other day as a new project bike but I have no idea what it is! It came with a skiptooth crank, New Departure hubs and modern rims and the whole thing was painted an awful blue.
Heres a few pictures, the only identifying numbers are p2613 stamped under the bb.

Looks Schwinn to me. 1930's DX? The serial number would be tough as the records pre-war WW2 were lost in a fire. That serial may not have enough digits as Schwinn used 5 numbers usually. If the crank is original to the bike, it may have a forged year on it like "AS-34". The chainring may also indicate.

The stem is 60/70's cheapo. Forks would not be correct for a Schwinn. Handlebars maybe.

Frame alone is indeed a prewar Schwinn straightbar. No way to tell how it was equipped. It could have been anything from a base bicycle up to a motobike. Serial leads me to say 1936.

Thanks for the info guys, I've never actually owned a Schwinn before. I did think the shape was early but 1936 is great. As theres only the frame left I'm going to rebuild it with new parts to build a comfortable cruiser.

very cool frame It has a lot of potential I would say klunker material that would look sweet with 26 inch bmx forks and a set of mid rise bars with a slingshot doublestem and some araya wheels on it
just a lil idea it is got potential upon potential
