The Nanner Puddin shifter is now a 3 speed
I'm getting the Screamer chainguard sectioned and stretched and modified to flow and fit better on the new jumbo frame. Can't wait to watch the Wacko magic unfold on this piece of the puzzle!

There is some sick metal work going on down in JAX today!
Paul did some cool work cutting up a collectible chainguard and repositioning the bottom edge to fit the frame better.
He cut a slice off the bottom of a perfectly good guard
and .....
Crimped a lap joint channel to weld it back into place......
So that it rode tight to the chainstays on the new frame and was centered on the BB. It's fun to watch a craftsman work his magic.
A little hammer work had the transition blending nicely.
Next he is going to extend the tail of the guard back to the seatstays.
Paul also cut the downtube guard mount and prepped it for mounting elsewhere.
Frame tubes are capped and waiting for final frame cleanup.
I'll update more as I continue to remotely watch a bike of mine being built by a master craftsman in another state 2 hours away!! Strange and surreal, but very exciting and cool too!!!!!

Now there is a consistent gap the whole way down the chainstay and nice and centered up on the BB. Time for some nice slow stitch welding.
What a work of art It all flows so well. I like how he was also able to keep the rear mounting piece that connects behind the seatstay.
It's gonna be fun to dress that canvas with some graphics.

Tube ends are capped and the guard has its first layer of filler on it.
Paul is tacking in the chain guard brackets. Added a second behind the sprocket to keep it from rubbing the cranks.
The stretched guard is looking pretty sweet on the Screamer XXL frame.

Looks great! Is the original chain wheel out for rechroming?
Paul used a random chainring to center the guard. I have a larger 5 spoke ring that mimics the Screamer 1 ring.
Fork Update - Rat trap springer legs were shortened up.
Check out how Paul Wackowski engineered the drum brake with the rocker arms. "Had to get the drum brake to play nice with the fork rockers... Designed a slide in drum brake holder using a creatively placed sacrificial Allen wrench." I love the engineering on this!!!!
Mockup Update. Check out how well the shortened rat trap springer turned out!!!! So awesome to see the whole bike again. Wicked banana seat! Killer chainguard stretch! Everything just flows so freaking well on this bike!!!! THANKS @pvwacko !!!!

From Paul's update - " Alright! To-do list includes: brazing the fork, shifter mount, and modifying the inner pan for the banana seat. So close on this one!!"
Objects appear bigger than they really are with the XXL frame next to the old frame on the ground.
With the old frame on the ground, it makes the XXL frame look ginormous, but if you look at the length, you can see that it's scaled up, but not to an absurd level.
From Paul's update - "Its still hard to get a sense of scale... When it's done I'm looking forward to a shot next to a restored stock screamer!"

Have plans for the spring-loaded sissy bar? The original will almost certainly bottom-out under the weight of an adult rider, but re-purposed parts from a suspension fork...<hmmmmm> I must ruminate on this.
I haven't that far ahead yet. For now just a regular sissy.
I think there are a couple of examples from the past MBOs where people have made adult grade springer sissys.
So when the metal work is done you're going to take over with the rest of it? You gonna chrome that hoop? Chrome fender? This is just silly cool!..
Paul is just about done with his part. I'm driving down to JAX to pick up the bike Sunday. I really don't have a timeline on when I will start Fish-ifying it. It's not going to be a fast build though.
Fork Update - Paul brazed up the shortened fork legs back into the crown and put the crown trim back on. Man, I love how well this shortened rat trap springer turned out. The forks are actually chrome under the black, so I have finish options.
Nanner update - Paul got the inner seat pan / supports in place. This should allow for a nice clean upholstery job without any extra hardware. It also gives me room for batteries or drag chute
Paul finished the last little touch for his work on the Screamer today. He made the pinch bracket to stealthily hold the shifter in place. The next pics I post will be sometime tomorrow after I drive down to pick this baby up!!!! I am bringing enough parts to hopefully make a temporary rider out of it while I am at Wacko's Garage.
