MBBO CLASS1 - Gundelach - 1970 Raleigh Chopper Mk1

Well, this won't be any first class restoration, but I am going to put a little life into this original early 1970 Raleigh Chopper Mk1.

I am prepping it for sale, so the timing works out to do it as part of MBBO.

I got this from the same salvage guy that I got the 53 Firestone that became the parts donor for Rockafella. Here are a couple of pics I took as I was bringing it home

And here is why I am naming it Gundelach

LOL!
Realistically, it's still gonna be a couple of weeks before I do anything on this bike.

Finally started cleaning up the bright work on my early 1970 Raleigh Chopper. Only got the front wheel, fender, and brake. Also replaced the tire.

Looking good! Love the before and after fender shot. Reminds me of those old Nu-Finish commercials where they did half the hood of a junk car. What did you use on that?

Light scraping with WD40, followed by 000 steel wool with WD40

That cleaned up fantastically

Now i just have to find time for the other 85% of the bike! :21::banana:

Hmmmm, would a Flaming Eyeball look good riding this on Halloween? Of course, the time frame.....you may have to take the next week off! From your real job I mean, never from RRB projects! :21:

It is the right colors for Halloween. But I am going to be riding Rockafella during this years Midnight Garden Ride. Here is the progress so far on my Von Dutch Flying Eyeball helmet

Another small update. I found time last night to de-rust and clean the rear fender, brake, and wheel. I forgot to take pics of the wheel.
