Right I got that, but every "portrait" picture I take is posted "landscape" and I'm not seeing any way to turn it vertically.

You should be able to import your photos into simple graphics programs like Microsoft Paint to rotate them and even crop/edit etc. before saving them in a folder to post from.

Well I don't have any proof but I suspect there is some Russian interference that is compromising my ability to upload photo's to my thread.

So I crossed a major milestone today. I got one of the fork "tusks" done successfully. This was the part of this project that has been looming over me because I wasn't sure if I could pull it off with the meager tools I have at my disposal. I have some super thick 7/8 O.D. tubes that I tapered down to 1/2 on one end on a wood lathe. My plan was to ream out the other end with a series of long drill bits that I would make by welding them on a shaft. The turning part was tedious but not difficult. The reaming process kicked my butt and after about three hours and only getting about 9" in and nearly breaking my wrist a few times when the corded drill got stuck, I decided to just go for it on the tubing roller. Low and behold it worked! I had to weld extensions on either end because the lathe could only handle 36" but those were just so it would work in the roller. I've got a long night of grinding ahead of me but at least I know I can do it now.

I'm curious how you turned the o.d. on a wood lathe. Grinder?

Ayuh, I ran a grinder against it as it was turning I was pretty sure it would work and it did. I'm going to take the lathe outside tonight to do the other three.

I also came to the sad realization last night that my bottom bracket is just too low and I have to cut off the tubes that are holding it and reconfigure them so that it lifts it up about an inch and a half at least. I hate to go backwards but I won't be happy with the bike if it doesn't ride the way I want it to. That and aesthetically it looks weird because the rear sprocket is higher than the front sprocket and it's driving me crazy.

Don't cha' hate it when you wake up in the morning and realize how you should have done something and now that you've had the realization you can't keep moving forward with what you've done? I was hoping to have the fork tacked up today but this is going to set me back a few days.

I need to get get back to work on this thing, progress has been slowwwwww. There's only about three weeks left. I'm going to need three years at the rate I'm going. I'm trying not to panic.

Well I may be down but don't count me out just yet. I finally got back to where I thought I was a week and a half ago. I had to make some major changes to the frame because once I started building the fork I realized there was a much sexier way to have it flow than what I was originally planning to do. I also was less than excited about the geometry after my first ride and I knew I would never be happy with the bike if it was awkward to ride. The new configuration fixed all of these issues and had the added benefit of reducing the amount of cantilever force on the rear stays. I think the "seat tube" flows into the frame much better now too. It was like a win win win. The only loss was time.
