That's 'before' the pantification of the rustification, right?
I thought I’d chosen a rusty looking color...and in another comment someone wanted me soil up the parrot [emoji3079] and remove its shine. Patina, patina, rust and aging overload, but I get it. That’s the rat rod way!

The parrot would look good with some years on it. :D

Take it to Hobby Lobby and get some ideas. They have a lot of fake patina stuff to look at.
Not you also...parrots and macaws are beautiful birds. Maybe a little splat of parrot poop on the top bar. The parrot is a salty old bird with some pirate wear.

Looks pretty real doesn’t it. Great patina example. It was actually a ceramic sculpture in a Fine Arts Museum in Houston.
Pannier? Cool.
I would make a nice pannier but it would be hard to open the flap.

There was a nice gas can next to it.

And a nice coat rack...

Tough question. In the close up photos it seems kind of busy and partially conceals the tool pouch, but in the farther away broadside view (last picture) the basket is almost invisible.

I actually like that basket on there. The patina matches the bike and that wood accent piece is too cool. I think it blends well with the build.

Yes the basket would interfere with the tool pouch/bag. And with no shine it does sorta disappear depending on the angle of view. Thanks.
I would keep it for daily use, but leave it off for the final pictures... [emoji6]

I’m somewhat in agreement with you. Thinking I need to come up with a quick release mount. Thanks.
Not on this build. Maybe make a bird cage to hang in your shop out of the basket, and put the parrot in it?
:blackeye: (me after the Parrotheads read this)
More dissing the parrot [emoji3079]...would need two to do a good cage. I’m 50/50 at this point. Thanks.
Tiki drinks last weekend at my sons.

I like it, works nicely with the rack!
Very cool with the wood at the top. Never seen one like it.
It does seem to be proportionate with the rack and bike. Need to come up with an attachment method. Again I’m at 50/50. Thanks.

Thanks! Again I’m at 50/50. The bike had an old basket wired to the rack when I found it so adding the basket would replicate the starting point and come full circle. And it would be similar to my first Hammered Higgins Build with the cargo hold.

I picked up the basket at “Michael’s” at 70% off. It has a bent, rusty appearance, with the weathered wood, it does look old. I find it interesting as to the effort the offshore manufacturers put forth to make faux “old” stuff.

The basket : Rocks
Thanks! Could haul rocks as well.
Be a good place to carry your kickstand spacer
Yep! Still on the lookout for a stand.
I like the basket on there, helps with the vintage ‘touring’ look for me.

P.S. I dig the parrot

Still undecided. Guess it depends on anchor system.
