Raining again...worked in garage a while. Cleaned up the battery tube and the light. Wasn’t able to paint so the fender and tank await another day.
I did finish wiring up the battery pack, extension cord and light.

I also “borrowed” a Klaxon horn from another bike and added my “LaidBack” buddy.

Trying to find a paint color that gets close to the rear fender and/or frame red. I had three of the colors in my paint cabinet, purchased two others. I think at least one will be close enough with some added patina OddJob style.

Rather amazing how many different shades of red there are. None really matching so far.

I also decided to fit the chain. It needed one link added to work with the larger rear cog. Should be a little easier to pedal. With the fixed fender braces and rack mounts using the axle the adjusting screws came in handy on this bike. The rain quit for a while so got the stand out and moved out to drive where I had some elbow room. Managed to get the chain tension adjusted and the wheel centered.

The tank and front fender are awaiting paint. If I can ever decide on tires I’ll probably stick with the faux 28” look on this bike. A few as is photos.

Raining again...severe thunderstorm warnings keep showing up on TV and my phone.
And now a tornado warning [emoji3544].

Between rain bouts I managed to scuff sand front fender and tank. They got another topping coat of satin black and claret wine.

I looked through my paint and found 4 white tones that I’ll try for front fender ridge. Waiting on a dry window of time. Test fender piece is ready to go.

Small detail but they matter. The clamps wouldn’t tighten up completely with the battery tube. So I cut a couple leather straps to use as shims. That seemed to solve the problem.

Since I have the front teacup light working I starting thinking about a light for the rear. Wanted to come up with something period correct. Then an idea popped into my head about just using old reflectors. I have a few on a display board.
So I had some sheet metal scraps left from making the tanks. I made a sketch and transferred it to the flat stock, cut, bent, drilled and here is the result.

Navajo White stripe added to the rain gutter fender ridge. Initial attempt at distressing the fender color with some acrylic color, a gray and a coffee tone. Rag applied, wiped, dabbed, rubbed. Not two bad need to add some scrapes and scuffs. I used the practice piece first.
