So my daughter’s Lil’ Chik was getting a bit small for her (she’s almost 21 now).
A long while back @bigorangecat sent me this Electra Cruiser 1 frame/fork/chainguard /headset:

I’ve tried to ‘rebuild’ it back to stock where I could.
I added a ‘cloverleaf’ style chainring, a set of Wheelmasters single speed wheels, upgraded the tires to Schwalbe Fat Franks (I think they were an option back when this was current), a Bell saddle and a set of Ian’s coke bottle grips.
Finally got the Electra cafe bars so, here she is, all ready for cruising this weekend and beyond.

Enjoy the ride my friends!

That little backyard shed really cranks out some clean rides!! :wink1:

Hahahahaha! Thanks, can’t wait until the Mrs ‘finds the funds’ for a proper shop! I’ve got about 3-4 more builds either in progress or in mind!

Beautiful bike, she will love more because dad built it. I built a slik chick with a candy paint job for my daughter last year that she says she will always treasure.

Could you show another shot of those bars? Would those be compatible with the old quill stems (without using shims)?

These bars have a 25.4 clamping area, which is pretty common. Here’s the other pics I have

They are really comfy bars. I have them on my 51 Panther. Ask your nearest Trek dealer for Electra cafe cruiser bars. cheap too.

They’re becoming really rare actually, maybe due to 2020, who knows..
I got these by joining an Electra Lovers page on FB, a shop owner on there from Baltimore had them. My local Trek dealer couldn’t get any in GA.
They were around $20 with $25 shipping, if I remember correctly.

True. I have chrome bars i was lucky to find at a dealer. The black bars on my panther came off a schwinn debutante i bought really cheap. The electra attitude bars are really nice too but have the smaller 22mm clamp. Not easy to find. Same bar was standard on the straight 8 and a few other electras. the bar on the blue trek came off my straight 8.
