I was encouraged to get back onto RRB and throw this build into the winter buildoff.

I was needing a use for a 36" wheel I had sitting around and had also been toying around with building another tall bike. Figured I'd kill two bikes with one stone. Introducing the King Krate. I'm going to try to keep it as close to stock looking as possible and not get too wild.

Seat will be at 5' and the grips about 6'. Tall bike BB will be placed at the stock seat post clamp. More to come!

Glad that the timing on this build lined up with the WBO. This is gonna be a blast to watch!
For those of you that don't know, @pvwacko is the builder of my Screamer XXL frame, fork, seat, and guard. Also he's not new to RRB, he was around in the early days alot.
Build on brother. This is such a cool concept!

Perfect, after seeing KF's frame I want to build a King Muscle also... It is pointless for me to build a 20' that I will never ride. So excellent idea on supersize muscle or king size...
And even better it is a replica of a Grey ghost.

Awesome idea/direction!

A 65 tooth Schwinn chainring from an exercise bike might look nicely proportionate

I'm going to have a custom mag chainring cut for this project.

Compound curve was done by sleeving two bends together.

Main frame was tack welded together then spaced off the table to center it on the BB shells

Great progress.
When it comes time for the shifter you should hollow out a Magic 8 Ball to make the shifter scale up

For the base or the top of the shifter? I have 3 old pool balls that I used as shift knobs in various vehicles. Thinking I'll use one of those.

I welded in the seat tube before I put the frame into the jig.
