My latest acquisition--a 2006 Marin Belvedere hybrid and a table top covered with tools. The bike needs a wash & lube, but otherwise looks to be in great condition. It pays to let people know that you're into bike building. To illustrate what I mean, please permit me to make a long story a little shorter...
I contacted this party regarding an upholstery stapler she had offered in a box of 'handyman tools.' I really wasn't seeking anything more, but mentioned that the tacker was intended for saddle-making. The router, too, might come in handy for creating wooden bucks--patterns from which sheet metal pieces (like seat pans) can be formed. I don't want to appear greedy...these are really to help support my volunteerism at a bicycle co-op. "Hey! I've got a bike here. You want it?" says she. Would YOU turn her down?
