Not much in the way of progress but been riding her a fair bit,
funny you posted was just thinking about the paint for this one
this morning, telepathic Luke TJ! Been working on the two I
have for your MBB, getting there some pic's soon hopefully,
been super hot here, hot in Vic?

Looking great and very nice way to distract from the extra power option.

Inlike your style in general and acheiving what you do stuck out in the middle of an ocean with limited resources is extra special.
 
While I had the spray gun out for my MBB thought I would also prime my boardtracker,
going to have a go at a fake patina paint job on this one, more to come!

So going to have a go at a bit of fake patina on this one, want the brown
primer to show through the Indian red top coat, give her that old original
barn find look hopefully. Now I don't really know what I am doing here so
go easy on me! First a base coat of brown oxide primer.

Used a cheapo spray bottle and squirted water over the areas I wanted effected.

Then random sea salt (comes in different grades) no it doesn't snow in Australia in the summer.

Wasn't overly happy with this as I used too much salt, looks okay and
with some more weathering should look okay, if I'm not happy can always
rub it back and go again.

Bit of sneak peak at the paint progress on this one, so after sealing the two colours with
clear gloss, gave the whole frame a pin wash, which is basically thinned out oil paint to
an almost milk like consistency, this blends the two colours closer to each other.

Decided the chipping effect was a little too aggressive and too she was too brown, so
used my airbrush and went over her with a light almost dusting of Indian red, also
painted the Indian logo.

Next another clear gloss coat, then a black pin wash to make her look dirty then
flat sealer, in total when finished she will have 9 layers of fluid sprayed on her,
wonder how much weight that would be?
