How to clean?

I'm wanting some ideas on how to clean this without taking off all the old pinstriping, then what are some ideas on how to protect it?

Only thing I can think of is an oxalic acid bath, but that would require a big tub and lots of acid.
And I'm not entirely sure how the striping would fare.

Do you want to clean the rusty patina off or just the dirt and moss?

Ended up just letting the rain knock the loose stuff off then clear coated it and hung it.

Mild detergent like dish soap in a bucket and a sponge/rag as if you were washing the car would have done it right? I like your display.

Thanks man, found out Missouri winters don't like cheap old clear coat. Will be reclear coating it once warm weather is here to stay
