I call it Sheldon, in honor of a man who had an affinity for english 3-speeds.
Those are the functional ones. I've got more that are in various states of being brought back to life. I'll update this as I complete them I guess. This is what my living room looked like before I got a couch and coffee table and had to move some bikes to other parts of the apartment:
UPDATE: and here is what it looks like about a year later:
By the way, I don't own a car (which saves me money, which I spend on bikes instead). I use these ones for regular commuting and general getting around:
all of those were free with the exception of the light blue '77 Zebrakenko Storm (called Kaminari, or "Storm of the Gods" in Japanese) that I got at a yard sale for $10 (it's FAST!). Each of them has their practical purposes. The Ross Chimera hybrid is equipped with full coverage fenders for rainy days. The MTB in back is my snow monster, Thunderhorse, and was given to me by a driver who hit me and wrecked the rear wheel on the hybrid (which I replaced anyway). The dark blue Schwinn Frontier was given to me by a coworker here who bought it in the early 90s but had it sitting for the last 10 years or so on his back porch. It's fun when I want to take the back way to work:
Yep. I like bikes.
