Some real shady pictures on some stale Craigslist adds. So I figured I'd check'em out.
My pics aren't great either. It was getting dark when I took these with the phone.
The 90-ish Specialized Hardrock.
I might've gave too much for this one. They originally listed it for $150, then $100, then $75, and I paid $60.
None of the components are much to speak of.
Was hoping for the 26x1.75 rims and they were Araya AP-21 26x1.50. These might work out ok though.
But the frame is near perfect for what I had in mind even if it is Taiwanese. Chromoly and just the right size for a BMX cruiser. I mean it coulda been a touch longer, but I thought the bottom mount rear brake was kinda cool.
The Kona AA. They wanted $75, and I was kinda excited until I saw that someone had replaced the Mavic 221 rims, and Shimano and Kona hubs with black Huffy wheels. And the bottom bracket was shot. I'm not sure it had the correct front forks or seat post either
But I liked the frame even with the vertical dropouts. And it seemed about the right size for my scheme.
It had nice Sugino Mighty 900 crank, Avid 2-finger brake levers, and new tires. So I went ahead and gave'm forty bucks for it.
Not exactly Champion or King Sting. And I haven't located a Bassett yet either. But I kinda like'm.
