just bought my build off frame today after getting off work
a 90's GT timberline mountain bike "triple triangle" frame

i plan on taking what i have learned about fixing and riding around on a electric bike
not the fancy lithium type but the cheaper sealed lead acid style
and applying to this years build off
tomorrow the frame altering begins

Lead sled electric fastback.

ok got home from work later than i would have like
so this is the only pic i was able to get

after cutting you can see why its the name is Fastback
its kinds similar to the old zep frames (minus the middle bar)

my hope is tomorrow morning to get some rough mock up pics taken before going to work

That makes it look faster already...

yup that wuz the plan
i'm sure some people who saw the first pic after reading the title thought it was a joke
or that i was nuts

Being a GT guy I will be specially interested in it, love it!
Care to share any more details???
Like wheel motor? Or an awesome frame mounted electric motor?
The suspense may well kill me with all the builds going on!
Awesome start, good luck!

so last night i worked on some mock ups and snapped a few pics before work
i was in a rush so poor quality cell phone pics is all i'm giving you

i ended up with a 24" in front since otherwise the it sat to high in the front
and the middle bar is there only as a visual reference
dont know if i will be using a triple tree front fork or a fork and truss set up
as for motor it will either be a frame mounted or rear wheel motor

As i was working out some sketches i came across a design i penned for RRBB08 of a flipped flopped girls bike before it was split into traditional and anything goes
at the time i decided to abandon the idea and i ended up forgetting about it
well after finding it i decided to do a quick mockup of the idea (with a few changes)
and i really like the way it looks so i thinking it MIGHT be a backup plan to Fastback GT

name = Murray's Flopper

Oh yeah, that' very cool!!

It would be cool if you did the Flopper, then we would have two transgender drag bikes competing.
Monark "The Snake" SoCal and Renaissance "The Mongoose" Man

I have been seriously considering going with the flopper
and it would be fun to have "drag" race with Renaissance Man
I have been doing more mockups and there have been many issues getting the right stance with the GT
so I hope to have a decision by the end of this weekend

cool GT concept those electric wheel motors look cool can't wait to one used!!

I'd like to see the GT used. I turned a Vista mountain bike into a vintage looking cruiser.

Oh come on be a Flip Flopper and do the Flopper, you've heard the poles and the group is yelling Flopper Flopper Flopper.... :D

Here is the deal after just getting started on my build off i found out that i would would have to find a new place and move out by end of July
I thought i was out for good but i came across some parts i had originally been collecting for a future project but with the move and having to downsize most future project are going to be cancelled
but instead of selling the parts i found i figured i would use them on the build off frame
Yes i know i dont have much time but i have to try

Here is a look at the parts
2407-102841_zpsfea3a959.jpg

Cream cross hatch grips, waffle pattern pedal blocks, cream diamond pattern bmx? seat diamondback crank
As you can see there is kind of a theme, cream diamond pattern
i also plan on getting some duro cream vintage diamond tread tires

Since this is now going to be a ratrod in the truest sense (i am going to try and utilize only parts i found lying around)

i will be using a 5 speed drum brake wheel set that i got from an old Columbia clipper build because the frame was set for speeds and i dont have time to modify it to fit a coaster

Also since i have very little time left there will not be much in the way of trick ideas except for the seat arrangement
I am using seat springs i has from another seat and will be attaching them to the v-brake tabs
this way i dont have waste time trying to correctly get rid of the tabs
I can just Hide them

Wish me luck now i am off to strip the paint
