Ah, maybe that is why. My decals were black, silver, & white. Maybe the three color makes them more expensive.

Done that with the wire wheel before many times, there is no forgiveness with those things!

when I ordered it I wish I had got 2 or 3 more pounds of it but it has went a good ways so far.
Got the tanks finished today. seeing them shine in the sunlight has really got me motived to finish this build. Got some other stuff wire wheeled and cleared but no pics yet.
Started wire wheeling the frame and didn't expect it to shine up like this with just some steel wool. Now how weird would it look with the top tubes polished and the rest painted?

After looking at how bad of shape the spokes was on the stock rims I decided to switch to my thick spoke rims that has a Bendex model K floating axle hub on it.
everything except the seat tube is shining up nicely so thinking about just blacking out the seat tube and polishing the rest

Yeah It looks to be factory chrome, the only down side is the seat tube don't look like it took the chrome wellLooks like it was originally chromed before paint.

You might get the paint off that chrome easier with chemical stripper.
