As it is now with new fork...I'm thinking I will put the oval springs and the crash guard rods from the original fork on it. Time will tell.

That turned out pretty sweet!

I seem to keep tweaking this old bike. I changed out the pedals and tires to some smooth rollers and added a few other details.

Also cleaned a few layers of paint off the Jiffy kickstand.

Cleaned up the springs and lower rods from the original bent springer fork. Then I changed them out to the girls replacement springer. The swap worked pretty well.

Guess I need to clean up bars and stem, might be a little chrome left on bars under silver paint.

Fabricated a light bracket for a Royce Union double light but need to LED them. So temporarily mounted a single Nirve light.

Also changed out the saddle and mounted using a couple of shims made from scrap tubing stock.

Looks great! I would have put some rusty bracket arms & hardware to attach the chromey light housing though.

Thanks, it's a fluid work in progress though. Things keep changing.

I had a 9 tooth cog on rear which made it hard to pedal. I swapped it out with a 11T from Ichi Bikes which seems just about right. Feels like a modern bike now. Also cleaned up the chain guard and added some vintage bling.

More tweaks. It is a blend of old crusty parts, old parts cleaned, new parts, used parts and fabricated parts. To me that is the heart and soul of a Rat Rod Bike.
New chainguard accents...

Just keep tweaking this old bike...refurbished saddle with leather. This is the third one I've done, better luck with leather. The first two were vinyl.

I found this old accessory light at an auto/truck swap meet. Now I need to figure out a way to light it up.

Roadworthy I say, and not another one like it MF. The chain-guard flames and yellow details set it off nicely, and the parts mix makes this rat a rider. hi-5

Thanks SilverkingPC. Of the old bikes I have, this one is the most comfortable rider. Must be the larger frame size, springer works pretty well also.

It's due to the rake of the frame also. The later AMF's had the same geometry.
