I was born in 1978 and was flying around on 20" bicycles before I was 5. My first BMX was a Sears Constrictor which I restored last year and will post soon. http://www.instructables.com/id/Re-Live-your-childhood-with-your-first-bicycle/

This is an example of a NOS bike.

I always remember seeing other kids with the motocross styled BMX and I wanted one bad. I didn't know then that I would wait over 30 years to own one. I was lucky enough to find one locally for $80 on Kijiji. I paid the guy $100 because I didn't want to lose out on it. He said that he picked it up at a yard sale for $40. I go to quite a few yard sales, but I guess he beat me to it. I wasn't to upset though, because, other than a crappy spray paint job, this bike was in pretty good shape.

I was going to enter this in the muscle bike build off, but unless I but ape hangers on it, it will not qualify. I'm going to do some custom stuff, but this re-build needs BMX bars. I finally have it all stripped down so that I can send the frame off for powder coat.

I've also been collecting NOS parts for this for a while which is the most time consuming part of any re-build. Sometimes expensive though, but part of the fun is finding the old parts. I'm still looking for a few. Not sure if I'm going to going to use the mags yet. I have a few NOS seats to choose from, a NOS fork, rear fender, seat support and number plates. I also was lucky to find the chain ring. I stumbled upon it randomly on ebay. It's a hard one to search for. I have many mint sprockets and cranks from old ccm exercise bikes.

Once the frame comes back from powder coat, I'll be ready to go. I'm also not sure if I'll design new decals or order repros of the original. I'm leaning toward custom artwork. That's also part of the fun for me. Stay tuned.....

Just saw this poster listed on ebay. Poster is dated 79, so this bike could be a 78 or 79.
