I own a Raleigh Chopper type bicycle but it’s badged and lettered by BSA. Parts, such as the rear 5 speed wheel are dated 1969. It’s a 3+2. I haven’t been too successful in obtaining much information on this bike. Can anyone help?

Nice bike! This may help you some, the Tube Investment Group and Raleigh, aka Raleigh TI, bought out many of the British manufacturers in the latter 1950s including the BSA brand in 1957. Manufacturing was consolidated to the Raleigh factory and several of the name brands, BSA being one, were produced primarily as a lower tier to the Raleigh bikes of the same vintage. The name brands were largely discontinued near the very end of the sixties and it is generally agreed that Raleigh quality began to decline around this same time.

Concur. While on liberty in Perth, Australia in 1983, I stopped at a bike shop and bought a used BSA that was a twin to the Raleigh 20, but had no hinge to fold. I rode that little orange bike all over town in my dress whites. I've only seen the 26" BSA bikes, I didn't know they had a chopper version also.
Second sidetrack over. :)
