Brazing?

Brazing is done with a torch and brass rod is used as the medium. Welding is done
with an electric arc and steel is used as the medium. Welding is a lot stronger than
brazing.

Another big technical difference is that in brazing, the base metal pieces are not melted. You're only melting the brazing rod (usually brass, as mentioned) to the pieces to hold them together.

Welding does just what it says. It "welds" the pieces together by heating them to melting temperature, and then joining them. This is why welding is so much stronger.
