My late 1890’s Victor has a really weird sized BB shell. It’s 44mm OD x 40mm ID x 70mm wide making standard 51mm bottom brackets bot an option. Any help with what type, brand, manufacture of bottom bracket i should be searching for?

Currently has a 1900s Eagle crankset that is so nice but the races are in rough shape. Doesn’t really want to tighten properly and the chainring lines up a mm shy of the frame.

The tight chain ring to frame clearance seems to be how they were built. I had the same concern with mine but after looking at many online photos it appears to be correct.

The races might prove to be a huge challenge to replace. If the aren't fretted or brinelled you can try polishing them with some compound on your fingertip or have them professionally hard chromed.

Before substituting the threaded parts get out your pitch gauge, lots of odd thread pitches in these old bikes. You ultimately may need to use a Loctite product to get a secure fit.
