I built this bike a few years ago to make use of some wheels I bought at an estate sale. Although technically not a boneshaker, I did use wheels of that era, so close enough.
The wheels came off of an 1880s-1890s wheelchair. I made both wheels mount single sided, no "forks". Built the frame and pivot points around the wheels, built the cranks from 1/2" plate, along with the bars, spade grips, steering linkage, pulleys because its belt driven. After the fab was complete, I painted it with black laquer and aged the bike to match the patina on the wheels. This bike is HEAVY and slow but the fun factor is off the charts! Theres a good video of it riding on Youtube under "Reno bike project" we heart bikes show. Thanks!
