Over the last couple of weeks I've started a sort of restomod stripping everything down to bare metal and treating some surface rust with rust reformer primer and some internal with this rust reformer

first I took a length of frayed brake cable chucked it up in a drill put it inside of the frame and let it rip. Then used the air hose to blow it out done that several times til just air came out.then poured the reformer inside of the frame till it came out the other side. Then used the cable to spread spread it out best possible. I've gotten the all the parts into primer .

I didn't get the tank with the bike and not having any luck finding one. I had 2 tanks in bad shape 1 off ladies rollfast and 1 off a 70 Columbia. Rollfast 1 had rusted thru at the back and the Columbia rusted away where it went around the head tube. So take 2 make 1 I cut both up slid the Columbia over the other tacked it in place.

Now time to get back to the rest of the parts.

I'm going to try your length of frayed brake cable chucked it up in a drill trick on a corroded seat tube!

Another method for tube cleaning is a wooden dowel in the drill with a slit cut in the end. Then put a piece of sandpaper in the slit and it works like a flap wheel.

Mainly used the cable in the small curved tubes cantilever and the stays and bottom tube.

i have a ball hone brush i keep around for that job the other trick i have used is an old brake wheel cyl hone which i have adapted a piece of 1/4x20 all thread to so i can get all the way down into the seat post

Little bit more progress the rear rack had one side broke off close to the mounting hole so I traced out the other side and cut it out left it longer than what was broke off. Then clamped it on and welded it up ground down the weld almost can't tell.

Not much progress lately work been busy but a little progress is better than none. So I had the light bezel that came off the Columbia but was to skinny to fit over the front half of the tank so I broke out the heat gun got it pliable to fit on the tank. Some reshaping and fiberglass work and this how it turned out.

Dug through my tire stash found these black tires with a white pinstripe not really liking these on this bike.

Still need to figure out what I want to use for pedals what seat and grips.

Decided to repaint a set of rims I had originally used on a different bike and lace up a shimano 3cc in them so time to set up my truing station :21:

Now just waiting on my tires and handle grips and hope everything is at least close in color.

Frustrated with trying to get the tires I wanted for this bike sitting here with one cream brick 26x2.125 that I ordered 2 of but guess they only had one of . Guess the pandemic has hit the tires market been looking all over and seeing alot of vendors out of most colored tires. Thats pretty much all I need to finish up this bike.

The tire situation is pretty bad. It also seems the price of tires has made a big jump.

Finally got some tires but having a little fitting issue. The only ones I found in stock were 2.2 and the 2.125 tire I have was already tight. Main problem is at the top of the fender on the rear at the sides gonna try to get more room by trying to spread it by hand. I like the look of the tires and I'm really happy with the way the bike turned out. The only other thing I have left is to hook up the three speed but I need to figure out a way to hold the cable end.

Is there a part I can order that will hold it? If someone could point me in the right direction It'd be greatly appreciated. Here's a couple pictures of the bike where I'm at now.

Thanks to @hamppea I was able to get the 3 speed figured out and solved the clearance issues which turned out to be the kickstand I had slid too far back . So I finally got to ride without any rubbing issues and I love the way this bike rides. Probably my new favorite bike I love how the twin top tubes sloop down from the headtube instead of straight or curved up. Here is a little ride video the clicking noise is a zip tie I forgot to cut off clicking the spokes. Drove me nuts at first trying to figure it out LOL.
