50’s Schwinn?

Got this off a dude who said it was a 66, but I think it’s earlier then that. Paint is pretty beat up but bicycle is straight as an arrow. Any ideas where the serial # might be? This thing has about 14 layers of paint on it!

I will eventually try to flip it to pay for some other projects. But trying to get an idea of what the bike should look like.

That's a Chicago made Schwinn. The serial number will be on the bottom of the bottom bracket if made before 52 or on the left dropout if made after 52. Or on the head tube if later than 1969. Under the layers of paint.

...you're probably going to have to remove some layers of paint to unearth the serial number

Looks like late 60's to me. Serial number should be on left rear dropout.

Well finally found the serial number. It’s on the head tube. Quick check and it’s a 1980.

Either a 1966 or 1980 frame I don’t need another project. I pulled what I needed from it and piled the rest for a future bike.

Picked it up for a little more then a 24 pack of Modelos so I will pass it on for around the same price.
